No wait, I'm actually studying japanese Writing this spring season. Hiragana and katakana symbols might be possible. Most of them are quite simple in their forms. However, Kanji symbols will more or less never work on a 8x8 px area. Kanji are the chinese symbols that is as well used in japanese writting in addition to the the two writting system hiragana and katakana..
